I did my first 'HTML steps' during the early 1990s while still being a student at the Free University in Berlin. It was this time when I joined a research group dealing with new ways of Telecommunication usage. Among the first projects was a joint effort of several universities and IT partners to develop a Telelearning platform called 'Virtual College' (1996). I build the related website and worked as a tutor for both students and professors. I will cover the variety of research, consulting and content production projects on a specific page at a later time. What you can find here are more recent examples of web design tasks done in the United States. |
For Users of MS Explorer: 'ActiveX' has to be activated to run the iSpring PowerPoint/Flash Player. No Spy- or Adware of any kind will be installed. Please go to iSpring for more information. |

The specific story of this endeavor needs to be told in a personal interview. In 2005, shortly before the decision to get my Business Degree ASAP, I was involved in a franchise doing Internet-based Data Mining and Recruiting. The final website you see below consisted of roughly 60 pages and covered the two domains 'Find Perfect Leads.com' and 'Find Better Jobs.com' as well as several sub domains / landing pages pointing to different service areas (like PowerPoint Presentation Development, Web Design, SEO, Email Marketing, Hosting, Data-Mining and Recruiting). All content - including Design / Photo Artwork - and the HTML coding was done entirely by me. The site is no longer online. |

Kman - LoPresti - Kroker The decision to come to the United States was a purely personal one. After a 'Very Long Distance' relationship and our Berlin marriage in September 2000 I left 'Old Europe' for good to start a new life across the Atlantic. The decision itself followed the logic that in the end it was easier for me than my wife to move. Claudia had immigrated to the States in 1993 and just bought herself into a partnership with two other physicians. I never regret or even questioned the choice of interrupting a successful business career in Germany, but the timing was (involuntarily) not such a good one. The dot.com crash and 9-11 together with the need for an H1B sponsoring created significant entry barriers into my original industry. Finally the Medical Group my wife was associated with sponsored me with the working permission and I started at HPC both as the 'IT guy' and Medical Assistant. Today the time of sponsorship is long over - I am for years now a Green Card Holder and will be an American citizen next year. The following screenshots are from the website designed for my wife's office. Naturally it includes also a picture of her. Due to several personnel and other changes the site is no longer maintained and offline. | ||||||

Project "Watson's" at Greens and Associates Internship In early 2006 I was facing again the questionable challenges of modern bureaucracy. I had started originally the MBA at Johns Hopkins University but was only allowed to go for one semester until my academic prerequisitions had been verified. The fact that I already hold a German Masters Degree and possessed all related documents was unfortunately not sufficient enough. It took months (including a trip to Germany) to verify every single class taken and every grade given in Germany and Heidelberg (where I had done my bachelors degree). Because of lacking JHU administrative support and the fact that the business school was still missing the MBA accreditation I switched to one of the most respected MBA programs in Maryland at Loyola College. I used the time during the paperwork delays for an internship at a Baltimore Media Placement Agency. One project at 'Green & Associates' was the website development for a local client. The storyboard (it is more precisely a collection of design scetches) you can find below was also done with an academic perspective. This amount of work would be an unnecessary overkill you will not find in any pure business oriented web development cycle. Needless to say that I removed any confidential information. Because of the simple fact that this client never finally choose to realize one of the proposal I still own all copyrights on the design entirely developed by me. The file is fully interactive in many ways - so just be free to explore. |
