After its successful launch in August 1999 I concentrated more on the support for another German Telecom subsidiary who had started to offer foreign language VOD packages. |
For Users of MS Explorer: 'ActiveX' has to be activated to run the iSpring PowerPoint/Flash Player. No Spy- or Adware of any kind will be installed. Please go to iSpring for more information. |

In early 1999 Deutsche Telekom, Germany's largest Telecommunication carrier, planned to launch several new product series which targeted younger customers. They also experimented with a MMOG called CMBA (Community of Massive Gaming Agents). The 'Game Machine' was not a Massive Multiplayer installment but an e-commerce supporting platform with several 'casual' games. It was not targeting 'hard-core' but occasional gamers. Featuring a total of 8 shockwave-based games (during any time five different ones were available) it was nevertheless some really 'serious' stuff. One special element of the Game Machine was the option to use points being won in one game to optimize or enhance another one (via the so-called 'Mega-Score'). The project launched at the first day of the most important and largest European convention for Consumer Electronics , the "Funkausstellung' in Berlin. For one week gamers could play online for real money. Despite some problems with hackers and attempts to 'cheat' the launch was very successful. It generated thousands of valuable leads and got a big press coverage. |

'Game Machine' Storyboard This is an excerpt from the original first storyboard used to 'sell' some game concepts to the client and also developed as a guideline for designers, HTML and Shockwave programmers. The final design of the Game Machine Microsite was done by the Art Director in my team; other design - especially related to the final games - was a combined effort. The storyboard itself including the 'Game Demos' and early renderings was done by me. Obviously it is helpfull to know some German to fully understand what is going on here - but most of it should be pretty intuitive and does not really need a lot of explanation. Just explore. |

MediaVision The Media Vision Project will be covered at a later time in more details. It included not only the initial design but ongoing daily updates and some very interesting work in supervising the production of several 60 second TV trailers. | ||||||
